Discussion on Media Outputs of Bringing Women’s Voices into the Mainstream
A dissemination seminar was held in Kathmandu from August 14th to 16th, 2015 to discuss the media outputs and long form pieces produced for the Panos-IDRC project “Bringing Women’s Voices into the Mainstream: A media research Fellowship on Women and Militarization in South Asia”.
Our 12 Media-Research Fellows presented the major findings of their work, the impact of their media outputs and their learning from the project. Policy makers and senior journalists discussed possible policy outcomes of their work and how a gender focus could be sustained while reporting on issues of militarization in the region. PSA is now working on the chapters submitted by the Fellows to bring out a book on the subject by the year end.
The project is supported by International Development Research Centre (IDRC). IDRC is part of Canada’s foreign affairs and development effort, investing in knowledge, innovation, and solutions to improve lives and livelihoods in the developing world. IDRC brings together the right partners around opportunities for impact, building leaders for today and tomorrow and helping drive large-scale positive change.
