Garrisoned Minds: Women and Armed Conflict in South Asia
From 2014-2016 Panos South Asia, supported by IDRC, selected and trained 12 journalists to work with research institutes and mentors to bring out the voices of women in conflict zones in South Asia.
The Media Research Fellowship on Militarization and Women in South Asia resulted in the book Garrisoned Minds: Women and Armed Conflict in South Asia. The book was launched in Delhi and Kathmandu in September 2016.
Women are often the worst affected by militarization but their stories rarely get heard. Garrisoned Minds, which brings together insights and analysis from some of the major conflict zones of South Asia, is a must be read by both policy-makers and the public.
This book is published by Speaking Tigers, an Indian publishing house.
